Field Service Technician - Preston (ATR-F217)

The Opportunity:
We have an internal opportunity for a Field Service Technician to join our Service team. This role is responsible for carrying out the repair, servicing, and maintenance of forklifts and associated equipment, ensuring all work is completed safely, efficiently, and to Komatsu standards.
Key responsibilities
- Service, repair, and maintain forklifts and related equipment in line with manufacturer and Komatsu standards.
- Diagnose faults and report deficiencies clearly and accurately.
- Complete all job documentation, timekeeping, and parts requisitions neatly and on time.
- Manage allocated jobs to meet standard times and cost expectations.
- Maintain a clean, safe work environment and comply with all HSE requirements.
- Use tools, equipment, and service vehicles safely and professionally.
- Participate in training, toolbox talks, and service meetings.
- Identify and report non‑conformances, hazards, or quality issues.
- Support continuous improvement across service operations.

About you
You will ideally have:
- Trade qualification in Mechanical or Electrical.
- Experience servicing and repairing forklifts, plant, or similar equipment.
- Ability to read and interpret service and parts manuals.
- Strong safety awareness and understanding of HSE requirements.
- Good written and verbal communication skills.
- A team‑focused approach with initiative and a willingness to learn.
- Current Driver’s Licence (Forklift, LPG/CNG licences desirable).
