Senior Field Service Technician - Dandenong (ATR-F238)

Komatsu Forklift Australia is looking for an experienced Senior Field Service Technician to join our Dandenong team.

This is an opportunity for an experienced forklift, material handling or mobile equipment technician who enjoys the independence of field service but also wants to use their experience to solve the harder problems, support other technicians and build strong relationships with customers.

You'll be out in the field across Melbourne's south-east, keeping customers' equipment moving through quality servicing, diagnostics, repairs and preventative maintenance.

Komatsu Forklift Australia services Komatsu equipment as well as other major forklift brands, so you'll get exposure to a broad range of machines, customers and technical challenges.

What you'll be doing

No two days will look exactly the same. You'll take ownership of your field service work while providing a high level of technical expertise across the team.

You'll be responsible for:

• Diagnosing complex mechanical, electrical and hydraulic faults.
• Servicing, maintaining and repairing forklifts and material handling equipment.
• Attending customer breakdowns and getting equipment operational as quickly and safely as possible.
• Completing preventative maintenance, inspections and repairs.
• Providing technical advice and support on more complex jobs.
• Working directly with customers and keeping them informed throughout repairs.
• Completing accurate service reports and job documentation.
• Identifying additional repairs and maintenance requirements before they become bigger problems.
• Sharing your knowledge and supporting the development of less experienced technicians.
• Maintaining high standards across safety, quality and customer service.

Komatsu's forklift service model covers scheduled servicing and breakdown support, with a focus on minimising customer downtime and keeping equipment performing reliably. 

What we're looking for

We're looking for someone who has been around the tools long enough to know their stuff – but still enjoys being on the tools.

You'll ideally bring:

• A relevant trade qualification such as Automotive, Diesel, Mobile Plant, Heavy Vehicle, Auto Electrical or similar.
• Strong experience servicing and repairing forklifts or material handling equipment.
• Excellent fault-finding and diagnostic capability.
• Sound knowledge across mechanical, electrical and hydraulic systems.
• The confidence to tackle complex breakdowns independently.
• Strong customer service and communication skills.
• The ability to manage your own workload and field service requirements.
• A genuine commitment to safety and quality.
• A willingness to share knowledge and support other technicians.

Experience across multiple forklift brands would be particularly valuable given Komatsu Forklift services major brands in addition to its own equipment
