Are you a Heavy Diesel Mechanic, HD Fitter or Mobile Plant Technician looking for your next step at Komatsu, one that uses your technical knowledge but moves you into a customer‑facing, commercial career?

This Account Representative role is an ideal transition for mechanically skilled people who understand machines, parts, service urgency and customer needs and want to apply that knowledge in a role focused on relationships, sales growth and aftermarket support.

You’ll be the frontline connection between Komatsu and a defined portfolio of key accounts across the South Island. Your technical background will give you a real advantage: you’ll know what customers are talking about, understand their challenges, and be able to recommend the right parts and service solutions with confidence.

You’ll work closely with Sales, Customer Support and Logistics teams to move quotes through to orders, resolve issues quickly, and ensure customers receive fast, accurate support that keeps their machines productive.

This role is based out of our Christchurch branch and requires regular travel across the South Island.

Key Responsibilities

• Own and actively manage a portfolio of customer accounts, building strong relationships through regular, proactive engagement
• Prepare, price and manage parts and service quotes, confidently driving conversion, upsell and repeat aftermarket sales
• Act as the central point of coordination for parts orders, service requests, follow-ups and issue resolution
• Partner with Sales, Customer Support and Logistics teams to ensure accurate ordering, timely delivery and clear communication
• Maintain accurate and up-to-date CRM records, capturing customer interactions, quotes, orders and future opportunities
• Monitor account performance, identifying risks and opportunities early to protect retention and grow wallet share.

What You’ll Bring

• background as a Heavy Diesel Mechanic, HD Fitter, Mobile Plant Technician or experience working with mechanical/plant equipment
• Experience in customer service, sales support or aftermarket environments, ideally with exposure to parts and service sales
• Experience working with mechanical equipment, ideally plant equipment or similar
• A strong customer-first mindset with the confidence to have commercial conversations and close opportunities
• Solid understanding of quoting, order management and the urgency required in parts and equipment uptime
• Excellent communication skills and attention to detail in a fast-paced, multi-account environment
