The Opportunity:
The Account Representative is the frontline connection between Komatsu and a defined portfolio of key accounts & prospective customers. This role is all about momentum owning the aftermarket relationship, turning parts and service opportunities into sales, and making it easy for customers to keep their machines productive.
You’ll be the day-to-day go-to, combining sharp commercial instincts with deep parts and service coordination to deliver fast, reliable outcomes that keep customers coming back.
You’ll work closely with internal Sales, Customer Support and Logistics teams to move quotes through to orders, resolve issues quickly, and ensure customer expectations aren’t just met they’re exceeded.
This role will be based in out of our Christchurch branch and will be required to travel frequently across the South Island.
Key Responsibilities
- Own and actively manage a portfolio of customer accounts, building strong relationships through regular, proactive engagement
- Prepare, price and manage parts and service quotes, confidently driving conversion, upsell and repeat aftermarket sales
- Act as the central point of coordination for parts orders, service requests, follow-ups and issue resolution
- Partner with Sales, Customer Support and Logistics teams to ensure accurate ordering, timely delivery and clear communication
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date CRM records, capturing customer interactions, quotes, orders and future opportunities
- Monitor account performance, identifying risks and opportunities early to protect retention and grow wallet share.

What You’ll Bring
- Experience in customer service, sales support or aftermarket environments, ideally with exposure to parts and service sales
- Experience working with mechanical equipment, ideally plant equipment or similar
- A strong customer-first mindset with the confidence to have commercial conversations and close opportunities
- Solid understanding of quoting, order management and the urgency required in parts and equipment uptime
- Excellent communication skills and attention to detail in a fast-paced, multi-account environment
- A proactive, organised approach with a commitment to safety, compliance and living Komatsu’s values
