The Opportunity
This isn't your typical planning role. It's a unique opportunity to join Komatsu in a dual Planner / Estimator position, where you'll play a critical role in establishing and driving the success of our new Machine Shop operation.
You'll be responsible for planning and scheduling all incoming machine shop work while also preparing quotations and estimates that support business growth and generate revenue. If you enjoy balancing operational planning with commercial outcomes, this is the role for you.
What You'll Be Doing
- Planning and scheduling all machine shop work to maximise workflow and on-time delivery.
- Preparing accurate quotations and estimates for machining and component repair work.
- Managing jobs from quotation through to invoicing and completion.
- Coordinating with Production, Warehouse, Sales, Service, and external vendors to meet customer timeframes.
- Monitoring production performance, lead times, DIFOT, and capacity.
- Identifying opportunities to improve efficiency, profitability, and customer outcomes.
What we are looking for:
- Experience in both production planning/scheduling and estimating or quoting within machining, manufacturing, heavy engineering, or heavy equipment environments.
- A strong understanding of machining processes and workshop operations.
- Experience with SAP and/or Microsoft AX would be highly regarded.
- Advanced Excel skills.
- Strong commercial awareness with the ability to accurately scope and price work.
- Excellent communication, stakeholder management, and organisational skills.
- A proactive, solutions-focused mindset with a passion for continuous improvement.
