The Opportunity
Are you an experienced production operator and want to share your knowledge?
Komatsu has an exciting opportunity for a Specialist Operator Trainer to join our national training team.
You’ll be the subject matter expert on the brand new Komatsu mining machinery, delivering safety & familiarisation and proficiency training to our customers on their mine sites.
We’re seeking someone with extensive experience as a production operator, skilled in operating a variety of mobile mining equipment including wheel loaders, track dozers, graders, hydraulic excavators and trucks.
While Komatsu machine experience is a plus, it’s not a requirement — what matters most is you bring energy, drive, and a positive attitude to everything you do.
You’ll also accrue Qantas points as this role travels nationally up to 50% of the time.
Role Located: Brisbane, Mackay, Sydney, Perth, or Hunter Valley
Remuneration: $161,000 ($15k travel allowance inc) + $19,500 motor vehicle allowance (or company vehicle) + 5% bonus + super

What we are looking for:
- Extensive experience as a Production Operator within the mining industry
- Certificate IV in Training and Assessment (TAE40116 or TAE40122) – Mandatory
- Valid HR License – Mandatory
- Proven competency and experience operating Mechanical and Electric Drive Haul Trucks – Mandatory
- National RII machine qualifications – Desirable
- Extensive and proven operating experience across large mining equipment, including 1 or more of the following:
- Dozers
- Excavators
- Hydraulic & Electric Shovels
- Wheel Loaders (Mechanical & Electric)
- Graders
- Excellent written and oral communication skills
- Experience creating training content
- Proficiency in Microsoft PowerPoint & Word
- Ability to work away for up to 2 weeks at a time if required
