The Opportunity


As a Trades Assistant in the Komatsu Remanufacturing Department, you will support component repair and remanufacturing activities while maintaining high standards of safety, quality and efficiency in the workshop.

You will assist with hands‑on repair tasks, learn component disassembly and assembly processes through on‑the‑job training, and complete accurate service reporting and timesheets. The role also involves supporting workshop operations through production support, yard and dispatch activities when required.

This position suits someone who is reliable, safety‑focused and keen to develop practical skills while working as part of a professional, collaborative team.

The Roster for this position is 7 days on and 7 days off, starting on Wednesday and finishing Tuesday evening. This role will work 12-hour days from 6:00am to 6:00pm.

The responsibilities

  • Assist with component repair, disassembly and assembly activities in the remanufacturing workshop, following defined job scopes and critical paths
  • Complete accurate service reporting, technical documentation and daily timesheets using standard templates and systems
  • Maintain a safe, efficient and tidy work environment in line with Komatsu HSE policies, standards and values
  • Support overall workshop operations through production support, yard, dispatch and continuous improvement (Kaizen/QC) activities as required

 

What We’re Looking For

We’re looking for someone who demonstrates:

  • A willingness to assist with and learn component repair and remanufacturing processes
  • Previous experience working with or around mechanical equipment
  • A strong commitment to safety, quality and compliance with Komatsu HSE standards
  • The ability to complete accurate service reports, technical documentation and daily timesheets
  • Introductory skills in Microsoft Word and Excel
  • Reliability, punctuality and the ability to follow job scopes and critical paths
  • A team‑focused attitude and a respectful approach to working with others
  • An interest in continuous improvement, including participation in Kaizen and QC activities
