The Opportunity
At Komatsu Australia, you’ll be part of an organisation that’s committed to creating value together. We are seeking an experienced and commercially astute Regional Distribution Centre Manager to lead our Wacol Distribution Centre and drive operational excellence across our warehousing operations.
This is a senior leadership role responsible for the end-to-end performance of our Wacol DC. You’ll lead a large, complex operation (70+ team members, 49,000 SKUs, 17,000 sqm facility) and play a critical role in delivering safe, efficient, and cost-effective supply chain outcomes.
You will be empowered to shape the operation, optimise performance, and build a high-performing team culture aligned with Komatsu’s values.
What You’ll Be Doing
- Lead safe, compliant, and efficient warehouse operations.
- Drive productivity, performance, and continuous improvement.
- Optimise space, labour, and automation systems.
- Oversee inventory accuracy and stock movement efficiency.
- Ensure service delivery meets customer and business expectations.
- Lead, mentor, and develop a team of leaders and indirect workforce.
- Foster a high-performance, accountable, and engaged culture.
- Manage recruitment, capability development, and succession planning.
- Build strong cross-functional relationships across the business.
- Own DC financial performance, including budget and cost control.
- Drive operational strategy aligned to supply chain objectives.
- Lead reporting on warehouse and supply chain performance.
- Identify and deliver capital improvement initiatives.
- Champion a strong safety-first culture.
- Ensure compliance with HSE standards, policies, and regulations.
- Maintain governance and ethical business practices.
What we are looking for:
You’re a proven leader who combines operational expertise with strong commercial acumen:
- Tertiary qualifications in Business/ Supply Chain is highly regarded.
- Extensive experience in warehouse/DC leadership (ideally parts or heavy industry).
- Strong people leadership capability with a track record of developing teams.
- Deep understanding of warehouse operations, inventory, and supply chain dynamics.
- Experience with Lean, Six Sigma, and continuous improvement methodologies.
- Financial and business acumen, including P&L responsibility.
- Comfortable operating autonomously and making strategic decisions.
- Experience with WMS systems (e.g. SAP, warehouse management platforms).
