The Opportunity

As a Workshop Technician for our Townsville Branch, you will be responsible for providing mechanical and electrical technical maintenance to Komatsu machinery and equipment whilst ensuring a high level of customer service to our existing and new customer base.

 

Roster: Monday to Friday, with potential for overtime when required

 

Role Located: Townsville

 

Rate: $41 - 48 per hour + Super + allowances + overtime rates

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist the team in the planning of maintenance schedules and workload by engaging in positive communication
  • Supply practical technical expertise and assistance to minimise equipment down time
  • Set an example of commitment to safety at all times by actively engaging in all aspects of safety and performance
  • Liaise with relevant personnel to ensure all required policies, procedures and resources are available prior to carrying out planned work
  • Carry out downloads and analysis of on board computer systems
  • Provide a high quality standard of work and diagnosis by using the workshop manual
  • Provide well written service reports covering complaint, cause and correction
  • Ensure all timesheets are completed end of shift and are signed off by the customer
  • Report hazards, incidents and accidents to relevant personnel
  • Assist the Branch in various areas whilst other team members are on annual leave
  • Assist with duties that maybe assigned by your manager or supervisor
  • To always ensure that your actions are such that promotes the name of Komatsu Australia and by due process leads to the long-term profitability of the Company.

The Knowledge, Skills and Abilities we're Looking For:

  • Trade qualification as a Mobile Plant Technician/Diesel Fitter or equivalent.
  • Excellent communication skills both written and oral to effectively communicate with customers and personnel at all levels.
  • An excellent understanding and commitment to Safety
  • Must have a working knowledge local and mine specific, Environment, OH&S, and Industrial legislation
  • Ability to analyse technical problems and suggest remedies
  • Ability to read and understand Electrical and Mechanical Drawings
  • Appropriate demeanor to create a positive “team atmosphere”
  • Ability to work safely under pressure and meet deadlines
  • Must have a motor vehicle license
  • Previous experience with Komatsu equipment including Electrical Drive Off Highway Trucks
  • Sound Trouble Shooting Skills
  • Previous exposure to KAL Maintenance and Operational Policies
