As a Trades Assistant, you will play a vital role in ensuring the smooth running of the Service and Parts Yard, supporting daily rental equipment operations, and maintaining safety and quality standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage daily routines in the Service and Parts Yard to keep everything organised and efficient.
- Perform pre-start checks and weekly running of rental equipment, including security inspections.
- Conduct pre-start checks on service equipment like forklifts, gantry cranes, and trailers.
- Pressure wash and detail machines to maintain high standards of cleanliness and presentation.
- Assist Service and Parts teams as needed to support smooth operations.
- Carry out general cleaning duties around the yard and work areas.
- Identify opportunities for process and tooling improvements and contribute to their implementation.
- Follow all safety protocols and risk assessment procedures consistently.
- Maintain accurate documentation in line with company policies.
- Communicate effectively across teams, understanding and supporting customer requirements.
What we are looking for:
- Previous experience in a similar role is preferred.
- Full Driver’s Licence is essential.
- Willingness or ability to obtain High Risk Licences (Forklift, Rigging, EWP, etc.).
- Basic computer skills and ability to work with standard software.
- Strong problem-solving skills and a proactive approach.
- Commitment to safe manual handling and workplace safety.
- Team player with good communication skills and a positive attitude.
