Our 4-year Plant Mechanic Apprenticeship provides hands-on experience working with some of the world’s most advanced machinery while completing a Certificate III in Mobile Plant Technology (AUR31220).
You’ll gain practical skills from industry experts, train in world-class facilities, and be supported throughout your apprenticeship by a dedicated development team.

About the Qualification
The Certificate III in Mobile Plant Technology (AUR31220) is a nationally recognised qualification that prepares apprentices to service, repair and maintain machinery used across construction, mining, agriculture and civil infrastructure.
This qualification develops skills in:
- Diagnosing and repairing mechanical and electrical systems.
- Servicing engines, transmissions, steering, suspension and braking systems.
- Maintaining hydraulic and pneumatic systems.
- Fault diagnosis using testing equipment and technical documentation.
- Applying workplace health and safety practices.
- Working effectively within technical teams.
The role of a Mobile Plant Technician at Komatsu involves working on equipment such as earthmoving, construction and mining machinery.
Holders of AUR31220 demonstrate strong technical knowledge, problem-solving ability and a commitment to safety and quality workmanship, making them well suited to roles within workshops, field service teams and heavy equipment operations.
