The Opportunity:
As a Service Technician, you will be responsible for the diagnosis, maintenance, and repair of Komatsu and customer equipment both in the workshop and in the field. Working as part of the Mt Thorley Service team, you will work as a team to service and maintain the machinery fleet, conduct machine inspections, prepare condition reports and repair recommendations, and ensure all work is completed safely, efficiently, and to the highest quality standards.
This role requires strong technical capability, excellent time management, and the ability to work independently while contributing to a collaborative team environment. You will also support rental fleet management, major maintenance projects, technical reporting, and administrative requirements, ensuring exceptional service delivery and customer satisfaction.
Through your commitment to safety, quality workmanship, and continuous improvement, you will play a key role in maintaining equipment reliability and supporting the success of our customers and the Mt Thorley Service Department.
Roster: This position operates on a lifestyle 24/7 roster, comprising rotating day and night shifts. Flexibility and a willingness to work across the roster are essential.

What we are looking for:
To be successful in this role, you will be a qualified Plant Mechanic with proven mine site experience and a strong commitment to safety, quality, and customer service. You will have the ability to diagnose and repair heavy mobile equipment both in the workshop and in the field, while working effectively as part of a team or independently when required.
Essential Requirements:
- Trade qualification as a Plant Mechanic
- Previous mine site experience
- Strong diagnostic and fault-finding skills on heavy mobile equipment
- Ability to work safely and follow established procedures and job scopes
- Sound computer skills and experience with technical reporting
- Excellent time management and organisational skills
- Self-motivated with a proactive approach to work
- Must be willing to travel
Desirable Qualifications:
- Dogging Ticket
- Forklift Licence
- Working at Heights Certification
- First Aid Certificate
- Previous Komatsu equipment experience
