Warehouse Operations Lead - Fulfilment Centre

Date:  10 Aug 2026
City:  Melbourne Fulfilment Centre

About Us

At Komatsu Australia you’ll be part of an inclusive culture where all our people thrive, reflected in our purpose: creating value together. We encourage people with diverse backgrounds to apply for this role.

The Opportunity

We’re looking for an energetic, approachable leader who can motivate the team of up to 20, keep operations running smoothly and drive safety, efficiency and continuous improvement. This is a hands-on leadership role for someone who can bring energy to the warehouse floor, keep day-to-day operations running smoothly and maintain the safety, compliance and administrative standards expected within a larger organisation.

You’re a practical and approachable leader who enjoys being part of the operation rather than managing entirely from a desk. You can create a sense of team around repetitive but important work, bring positive energy to the floor and build strong relationships without relying on hierarchy. You’re also comfortable working within the standards and processes of a national business while finding constructive ways to improve how work gets done.

What you’ll do

  • Stay visible and involved on the warehouse floor, stepping in to support the team during bottlenecks or high-volume periods.
  • Plan and coordinate daily work so operational priorities are delivered safely and efficiently.
  • Manage performance discussions and provide clear, practical feedback to team members.
  • Complete required safety, compliance, review and operational documentation accurately.
  • Monitor warehouse processes and ensure the team follows safe working practices.
  • Identify and implement continuous improvement opportunities using a practical, Kaizen-style mindset.
  • Work within Komatsu’s national operating model, helping maintain alignment across its distribution centres.
  • Use multiple warehouse and business systems to oversee workflows and resolve operational issues.

What we are looking for

  • 3+ years of experience managing or supervising a warehouse team.
  • Proven experience working in warehouse operations, including an understanding of receiving, storage, picking, packing and dispatch processes.
  • The ability to lead confidently, manage performance and build a positive, motivated team environment.
  • Strong time management and the ability to balance interruptions, team questions and your own administrative workload.
  • Confidence using warehouse management systems; experience with SAP or another WMS is relevant, but knowledge of a specific platform is not required.
  • A practical understanding of warehouse safety and compliance requirements.
  • A continuous improvement mindset and the ability to operate effectively within the processes of a larger organisation.
  • A forklift licence is preferred but not essential.

Why work for us!
