The Opportunity

Reporting to the Regional Fulfilment Centre Manager– Supply Chain (Melbourne), the Operations Lead  - Fulfilment Centre is responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of the Melbourne Fulfilment Centre, including order processing, picking, packing, and shipping, while managing a team with a high level of efficiency and in accordance with safety and regulatory compliance requirements and Komatsu’s policies, procedures, systems, and standards.

In addition, the Operations Lead – Fulfilment Centre will lead the warehouse operations team to meet KPI’s and targets through providing development to the warehouse staff to improve capbillity, while ensuring  productivity of workflow.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and guide the safe Warehouse operations including supervising and motivating a team of fulfilment centre staff, including training, developing and mentoring staff, supporting career progression and ensuring key performance indications are met.
  • Ensure the efficient running of the overall warehouse operations which can fulfil operational and customer demand and meet set targets.
  • Analyse shipment, demand and distribution activities for opportunities and overcome challenges.
  • Provide regular reporting to management to ensure KPI’s and other performance reporting is met.
  • Manage the asset base of the operation.
  • Optimise employee workflow within the operation.
  • Ensure timely and accurate order fulfilment, from receiving orders to shipping them to customers.
  • Plan, organise, and direct daily operations to meet throughput targets and ensure smooth workflow.
  • Identify and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency and reduce costs.
  • Ensure adherence to quality control standards throughout the fulfilment process.
  • Maintain and ensure compliance with agreed set operational processes.
  • Manage and track warehouse performance KPI’s and make recommendation and implement for improvement in line with business plan.
  • Implement and maintain standard operating procedures (SOPs) for inventory control, logistics management, and order fulfilment.
  • Ensure safety is of top propriety and reduce safety risks through adhering to safety standards Activities to be performed in accordance with the Company’s procedures to meet the operational standards

Qualifications & System skills:

  • Degree and/or certification in relevant discipline (Warehousing, Supply Chain management, Operations management)
  • Proven experience in warehouse operations and logistics management.
  • Proficiency in using warehouse management systems (WMS) and Warehouse control systems (WCS).
  • Exposure to Warehouse automation and execution systems.
  • Understanding of Inventory Control, Stock Management, and leadership.
  • Strong systems knowledge (MS Excel, Word, Power point, SAP etc.)
