People Services Officer - People Experience
About Us
At Komatsu Australia you’ll be part of an inclusive culture where all our people thrive, reflected in our purpose: creating value together. We encourage people with diverse backgrounds to apply for this role.
The Opportunity
You’ve studied HR and now you’re looking for the opportunity to put that knowledge into practice, learn how a People & Culture function really works and build your career from the ground up!
You may have gained your administration and systems experience supporting an L&D or HR function, or your experience may come from a combination of roles such as systems administration, event coordination or broader business support.
We’re looking for an organised and enthusiastic HR Administrator, internally known as a People Services Officer – People Experience, to join our People & Culture team in Fairfield on a 12-month fixed term contract.
This is a fantastic entry-level opportunity for someone who has recently completed, or is nearing completion of studies in Human Resources, Business or a related discipline and is looking to gain practical experience within a large organisation.
You don’t need to know everything on day one. We’re looking for someone who is organised, curious, comfortable with systems and data, and genuinely keen to build a career in HR.
What will you be doing?
A key focus of the role will be supporting our Learning & Development activities, while also providing broader administrative and operational support across our People Experience team.
Your day could include:
- Coordinating training sessions, including registrations, calendars, room bookings, catering and participant communications.
- Supporting facilitators and employees before, during and after learning programs.
- Administering our Learning Management System (LMS), including enrolments, course creation and training records.
- Responding to employee learning and development enquiries.
- Preparing reports and maintaining accurate training and compliance data.
- Supporting SuccessFactors system testing and reporting.
- Preparing PowerPoint presentations, learning materials and communications.
- Maintaining learning content and information within SharePoint.
- Raising purchase orders and liaising with external providers.
- Supporting surveys, reporting and other People & Culture initiatives.
- Providing general administration and coordination support to the broader People Experience team.
What we are looking for
- Strong administration and organisational skills.
- Great attention to detail and accuracy.
- Experience with an LMS, SuccessFactors, SharePoint or HR systems would be great, but it isn't essential if you have transferable skills and the appetite to learn.
- Good Microsoft Office skills, particularly Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- The ability to juggle multiple priorities and deadlines.
- A proactive approach, you enjoy figuring things out rather than waiting to be told.
- A genuine interest in HR, Learning & Development and employee experience.
- A collaborative attitude and willingness to learn.
