The Opportunity:
Komatsu Australia is seeking an experienced Payroll Services Manager to lead our payroll operations based in Fairfield. This is an exciting opportunity to step into a pivotal leadership role within a large, well-established organisation.
Reporting into the National People Services & Systems Manager, you will manage a team of 7, overseeing end-to-end payroll services across a complex workforce operating under multiple enterprise agreements. You will drive accuracy, compliance, continuous improvement and service excellence, ensuring payroll operations run efficiently and in line with legislative and organisational requirements.
This role is ideal for a strong people leader who thrives in a high-volume, multi-agreement environment and is confident managing compliance, governance and stakeholder relationships across diverse business units. You will play a key role in maintaining best-practice payroll standards while fostering a collaborative, high-performing team culture.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead accurate, on-time processing of weekly, fortnightly and monthly payrolls
- Manage SAP ECC6 & CATS payroll environment integrated with SuccessFactors
- Oversee EA and award interpretation, including change testing controls
- Coordinate month-end and year-end payroll processes and compliance
- Provide payroll reporting, resolve queries and monitor legislative updates

What we are looking for:
- Strong technical payroll expertise, including tax, superannuation, award/EA interpretation, STP2 and statutory reporting
- Proven experience leading payroll functions and managing teams
- Past and proven experience working with SAP ECC6, CATS and SuccessFactors (ECP)
- Demonstrated involvement in business and system transformations
- Strong analytical and problem-solving capability with high attention to detail
- Adaptable and responsive to change and feedback
- Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills
- Ability to meet strict deadlines in a high-volume environment
- Willingness to operate hands-on in payroll processing, reconciliations and year-end activities
