The Opportunity
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Leading Hand Electrician to oversee all electrical work on Komatsu OEM equipment within the Pre-Delivery Inspection (PDI) section.
As the Leading Hand – PDI, you will be responsible for supervising and coordinating a team of Komatsu employees and contractors conducting electrical installation and commissioning activities prior to equipment delivery. This role ensures that all electrical work meets Komatsu’s high standards of quality, safety, efficiency, and customer satisfaction.
What you will be doing:
- Oversee and support all electrical work related to base machine assembly, installation of customer-specified local options, and equipment performance testing.
- Ensure all work is carried out in compliance with:
- Komatsu’s Safe Work Procedures (SWPs)
- Installation guides
- Customer-specific requirements for the Utility product line
- Lead and mentor internal and external electrical teams to ensure work is completed on time and within budget.
- Organise and maintain electrical stock, consumables, and tools required for production activities in the Utility Central building and Construction Products areas.
- Collaborate closely with internal departments to ensure seamless communication and alignment with customer requirements.
What you will bring:
- Relevant Electrical Trade Qualification.
- Experience in utility, construction, or mining machinery environments.
- Strong electrical troubleshooting skills.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
- Proficiency in basic computer use and job tracking systems.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, team-based environment.
- Commitment to workplace safety, including ability to pass:
- Full pre-employment medical
- Random drug and alcohol testing
