The Opportunity

Komatsu is looking for a qualified Electrician to join our PDI team, working hands-on with new Komatsu equipment before it heads out to customers.

 

This is your opportunity to work across utility and construction machinery, completing electrical fit-outs, installing customer-specific options and testing equipment to make sure every machine leaves the workshop meeting Komatsu's quality standards.

 

What will you be doing?

You'll be part of the team responsible for getting new Komatsu machines ready for work.

 

Your day will involve:

  • Completing electrical work as part of new machine assembly and fit-out.
  • Installing customer-specific options and accessories.
  • Testing equipment and troubleshooting electrical issues.
  • Following installation guides and Safe Work Procedures.
  • Working to production schedules while maintaining a high standard of workmanship.
  • Identifying opportunities to improve the way work is completed.
  • Working closely with Leading Hands, Team Leads and Planners to keep builds on track.
  • Completing job documentation accurately and on time.

 

Roster: Monday to Friday, 6:30am to 3pm with O/T Available and possible afternoon shift.

Rate: $46.61 - $54.86 per hour – depending of experience

What we are looking for

You'll need a relevant Electrical Trade Qualification and full driver's licence, along with strong troubleshooting and communication skills.

 

Ideally, you'll have previous exposure to utility, construction or mining machinery, but we're also interested in hearing from electricians with strong transferable experience who are keen to build their knowledge of heavy equipment.

 

You'll be someone who:

  • Takes pride in producing quality work.
  • Has excellent fault-finding and troubleshooting skills.
  • Is safety focused and follows procedures.
  • Enjoys working as part of a team.
  • Can work accurately to deadlines and production targets.
  • Has basic computer skills.
  • Is willing to obtain additional licences such as Forklift or Overhead Gantry where required.
  • Is willing to complete a pre-employment medical and participate in random drug testing.
