About Us

At Komatsu Australia you’ll be part of an inclusive culture where all our people thrive, reflected in our purpose: creating value together. We encourage people with diverse backgrounds to apply for this role.

The Opportunity

If you’re an experienced Plant Mechanic / Heavy Diesel Technician who enjoys working independently, building strong customer relationships and being the person customers rely on to keep their equipment moving, this could be the role for you.

Komatsu is looking for a Resident Field Service Technician to support customers across the Geelong region.

Unlike a traditional branch-based role, you’ll be the local face of Komatsu within your territory, providing scheduled servicing, diagnostics, breakdown support and repairs while keeping an eye on what your customers and their machines will need next.

You’ll:

  • Diagnose, repair and maintain Komatsu and customer equipment to OEM standards.
  • Complete scheduled servicing, breakdown repairs and planned maintenance.
  • Manage your own daily priorities and jobs in the field by building customer relationships.
  • Build strong relationships with customers and keep them informed about machine condition and upcoming maintenance.
  • Identify future parts, service and component repair requirements before they become bigger problems.
  • Help plan upcoming servicing, component changeouts, shutdowns and major repairs.
  • Coordinate with Parts, Technical Support, Supervisors and other Komatsu teams to make sure you have what you need to get the job done.
  • Complete service reports, inspections, warranty documentation and job paperwork accurately and on time.

You may also support larger site repairs, shutdowns and other Field Service territories when operationally required.
