We’re on the hunt for a driven and future-focused Product Manager – Data Devices to own the performance, support, evolution, and roadmap of Komatsu’s fleet-wide machine data infrastructure. Based in Perth , this is your opportunity to step into a product owner role where field technology meets business value—leading the direction, development, and delivery of edge computing systems that power the modern mine.

 

You’ll take the reins on our Embedded edge device platform and data comms hardware—ensuring reliable connectivity, seamless data flow, and continuous product improvement across our mining fleet. If you’re ready to shape the strategy and get hands-on with the tech, this role’s for you.

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Own the product lifecycle for our Embedded edge device—roadmap, rollout, performance, and support.
  • Act as the key technical point of contact across internal teams, customers, and vendors.
  • Drive the data device strategy—balancing future needs, field feedback, and innovation opportunities.
  • Ensure reliable machine connectivity via LTE, Wi-Fi mesh, satellite, and LAN networks.
  • Commission and support devices in both workshop and field environments.
  • Monitor data flow health, resolve communication faults, and drive continuous improvement.
  • Lead reporting, insights, and stakeholder communications across the business.
  • Deliver training, documentation, and tools to scale capability across regions.
  • Collaborate with Engineering, IT, and SmartCare teams on new tech development and rollout projects.

What we are looking for:

  • 5+ years in mining, tech, or industrial field systems with hands-on network and device experience.
  • Product ownership or product leadership experience in a technical environment.
  • Strong understanding of machine comms: LTE, Wi-Fi mesh, satellite, radio, LAN.
  • Solid foundation in IP networking, cybersecurity practices, and field deployment.
  • Systems thinking with an eye for scalability, integration, and automation.
  • Proven ability to bridge technical and non-technical teams—clear communicator, strategic thinker.
  • Bachelor’s in Engineering, IT, or similar—or qualified tradesperson with relevant expertise.
  • Valid driver’s licence and a readiness to engage directly with field operations.
