The Opportunity
Komatsu is looking for an experienced Maintenance Supervisor to lead our site-based maintenance team at Batchfire Callide Mine. This is a hands-on leadership role for someone who understands heavy mining equipment, knows how to get the best from a crew and never compromises on safety or quality.
You’ll work alongside your team, not just manage from the sidelines. Coordinating daily maintenance activities, supporting technicians, solving problems and partnering directly with the customer to keep Komatsu equipment performing at its best.
What You’ll Be Doing
You’ll take ownership of the day-to-day supervision of the Komatsu maintenance team and subcontractors, ensuring work is planned, allocated and completed safely and efficiently.
Your day will include:
· Driving a strong safety culture through Take 5s, JRAs, audits and site compliance.
· Leading, supporting and developing the site maintenance crew.
· Ensuring completed work meets Komatsu quality standards.
· Allocating daily work and ensuring technicians have the right job packs, technical information and resources.
· Coordinating planned and reactive maintenance activities.
· Providing hands-on technical support and guidance to the team.
· Managing customer expectations and providing clear updates on maintenance activities.
· Reviewing shift logs, KOMSERV reports, PM clinics and REMAN documentation.
· Working closely with planners, technical support, site crews and subcontractors.
· Identifying opportunities for continuous improvement across the operation.

What we are looking for
Previous experience supervising maintenance teams within a mining or heavy equipment environment.
· Strong commitment to safety and environmental standards.
· Strong customer and stakeholder communication skills.
· A Mechanical and/or HV Electrical trade qualification.
· Sound technical knowledge of heavy mining equipment.
· Experience with Komatsu Mining Excavators, 930E-4 haul trucks and GD955-7R graders will be highly regarded.
· Post Training and qualifications in Supervisory / Management Role, S123, G2 Qualifications, are required.
· The ability to read and interpret maintenance manuals, parts manuals and schematic drawings.
· The ability to work autonomously and make sound decisions on site.
· The ability to obtain the required Coal Board Medical, S11, & site inductions.
· Applicant must have a current Queensland Driver’s Licence.
